On Friday July 26th AccuWeather was on hand at Senator Corman's Kids Day with the State College Spikes. The Kids Day featured political representatives and local organizations as well as free food and fun for the whole family. State College Spikes tickets were also given away. AccuKidz.com would like to welcome a new addition to the AccuKidz family. Virtual Family Kingdom will soon host AccuWeather's Headquarters within their game! This is a screenshot of the room being visited by a white fairy player:

Online since May of this year, Virtual Family Kingdom http://www.virtualfamilykindgom.com is growing quickly and is a favorite of our own AccuKid Hannah. Thank you, Hannah for your help in making this possible. This amazing online multi player role playing game was formed to help ease the sorrow of many dedicated Virtual Magic Kingdom by Disney players when the game closed. A fun free educational site for kids. And it is safe to play, too. It is wonderful to see companies caring about the online safety of our younger generation.

And so, our first AccuKidz VFK Quest begins on Saturday. The prizes are cool, the game is fun, and you just might make a few friends along the way. Oh, and if your children are playing ... please don't tell them they are learning, ok? We'll just keep that our little secret.

'Twas a rainstorm unlike any I had seen, sliding in several inches of water that had gathered at my feet. I could hear the anxious screams of others preparing for the deluge that was about to descend upon us. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted a rainbow, one of the most glorious I had ever seen. I started for my camera but quickly realized it was no match for the amount of precipitation that seemed to come out of nowhere.

Quietly taking my place amid the crowd the gathered I looked up just as the bucket overturned and to hear the children's laughter. There is nothing quite like enjoying a rainstorm with children ... and even better when you are enjoying the day at one of your favorite amusement parks, Idlewild Park in Ligonier. You can see more of the park in JohnstownWildfire's photos HERE. Watch for some awesome photos coming from another great family park soon.

On a recent outing AccuKid Hannah and I discovered a rare treat ... for many years it has been discussed that there is gold at the end of the rainbow. I often wondered .. is that golden nuggets? Gold Coins? Bars of gold? Ahh ... imagine our surprise when we discovered the true treasure at the end of the rainbow. Here is a picture of Hannah reaching to the rainbow:

Can you see what the gold is? It is corn! Rich, sweet, delicious ears of corn. Who would have ever thought? My special thanks to AccuKidz Director Ron and the LHHV Weather Team for helping us with this photo.

Ahh .. the hazy crazy days of summer are here. The weather has been absolutely beautiful, and I have been lucky enough to get caught in a couple of heavy rainstorm. There is nothing quite like a rainstorm to bring out the kid in me.

I am excited to say that FamilyOnBikes has posted a blog and photos from their trip. They are very near Canada and are having a good time, with one very sad exception. Stop in and check on their travels HERE.

I've started a diet and will be posting my progress on the Kid's Weather Forums on the Getting Fit Team thread. I'd love some encouragement as I work toward my goal of being healthier! And if you would like to get healthier, we would love to have you join us!
