Action In The Atlantic
11:00 p.m. Monday:
Summary:
Nana's valiantly holding on out there. We have a new depression (15) that probably is Omar before long, and another critter to watch is over the western Caribbean. On the other hand, we have cleaned out the Eastern Pacific for now. Get the latest info on 15 and Nana in the AccuWeather.com Hurricane Center (Premium) (Pro).

The Dry Southeast, the Stormy Plains
6:00 p.m. Sunday:
Summary:
Quiet weather will remain the story across the Southeast, which remains a bad thing for most places as it's still mostly droughty there. We'll get some rain... in some areas too much... in Big 12 South country, though, for the short term thanks to Norbert's remains, after that due to a front that stalls for a couple of days.
Personal Corner:
Once again, let me remind those of you that discover me on MySpace and Facebook that when you send me a friend request, please let me know who you are and why you want to be my friend (because you're a huge fan of the blog!). I get a lot of junk friend requests, like I am sure many of you do.
Another reminder, I'll decline or ignore your request if there's an excessive amount of @%*#$ on your page and especially if your profile name is any thing like @*&%, @#$*, or Bad #&*$ @#$%. Also, for the most part I don't fiddle with the silly little apps, I just don't have time for them.

Norbert In Texas, Odile Gone, Watching The Atlantic
4:45 pm Sunday:
Summary:
Norbert is strung out over the Southern Plains now, the main concern is for heavy rain. We're about to turn Odile's life support off. There area two areas where we could see development in the Atlantic over the next few days.
Update:
As I was recording the video, the folks at NHC decided that the critter I talked about over the middle of the Atlantic is organized enough and with enough thunderstorms to be called a tropical storm. So, it's Nana now. I still think Nana will be mainly a non-factor, if it survives more than a day or two against the strong upper level westerly wind out there. Get the latest on Nana in the AccuWeather.com Hurricane Center (Premium) (Pro).

Norbert's Influence, Mostly Dry In The Southeast
6:30 pm Saturday:
Norbert will impact parts of the Big 12 South territory over the next 36 hours or so with heavy thunderstorms, a few severe as well. The critter off the Southeast Coast will bring some rain to some of SEC East territory (uh oh, Vandy lost today, the division is wide open again!). More on that below in the Tropical Corner. The storm over the West will mainly pass north of us, a trailing front will cause wet weather for a few areas during the upcoming workweek.

Tropical Corner - Tracking Norbert, Atlantic Heating Up
6:00 pm Saturday:
Summary:
Norbert is lashing Baja California this evening, heading toward the Mexican mainland. Look for the moisture to be drawn northeastward through West Texas and New Mexico. Odile is weaker than yesterday, and if it survives another 24-48 hours, should head northwestward away from land, where it can strengthen again. We don't have any storms in the Atlantic, but the critter east of Georgia and South Carolina is stirring things up, we'll have to keep an eye on it for a while. There are two other areas of interest, one over the open Atlantic, the other in the Caribbean.
